Plant a New Truffula...

 Treat it with care.
Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
Then the Lorax and all of his friends may come back.~ Dr. Seuss

Mrs. Cupples cannot control the crazy knotheads on the Internet.

If they post something strange, it's not her fault.

So be careful on the web and always get your parents permission before you go wandering around.

Who In The Dickens Is This?!?!?!

Looks like he was an old guy with a big beard and mustache.

And based on this picture,

he might have lived a long time ago because he's wearing some old fashioned clothes.

But, who was he and why is he famous?

There once was a guy named Shel...

Who wrote kid's poetry well.

Most kids liked his books

Despite his scary looks

Cause he had cool stories to tell.

HAHA!  Look I wrote a poem.

This type of poem is called a limerick.

I bet you could write one too!

Happy Birthday, David!!

I LOVE the David books.  They are so funny.

October 5th is David's Birthday! Well, not the David in the books, but the David that wrote them.

His name is David Shannon.

Did you know he has written a lot of other really great books?  Stop by the library and find one today! Until then, enjoy the hotspots and learn more about both Davids!

Uglified Ducky

This is my favorite book ever! We were really lucky to have Mr. Willy Claflin come to our school last year.  He's a really neat guy.

I'm using a new thing called Thinglink that lets me add extra stuff to the pictures on this blog.  Check out the "hotspots" on the pictures to get more info about this book!
