Hooray for Turkey Day!

This year Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November, 22nd, 2012.

President Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving a national holiday in 1863.

Thanksgiving is ALWAYS on the 4th Thursday of November.

It's a time for people thankful for the good things in their lives.

Many people eat food traditional like turkey and pumpkin pie.

But, who started all this?

What were they thankful for?

Did they really eat pumpkin pie and turkey too?

Click on the DOTS in the picture to find out.

Mrs. Cupples does not control all the "turkeys" on the Internet. She works hard to make sure all the links in her blog work and lead to good safe places, but the Internet can be filled with all kinds of "gobbly"-gook.
Please always tell your parents when you go "hunting" on the Internet.  Never give anyone your name or any other personal info without your parent's permission!

What is Veteran's Day?

Veteran's Day is an American holiday that is celebrated on November 11th.

On this day, we make a special effort to thank the men and women who keep us safe in the Armed Forces.

We also take time to remember people who lost their lives trying to keep us safe and free.

Follow the dots on the picture to find out more about Veteran's Day.
The dots will take you to information, activities, videos, and games!

Mrs. Cupples tries really hard to find good links for each topic.
However, she is NOT the Commander in Chief of the Internet.
She has no control over the scallywags who post stuff that might not be right or good for kids.
Be safe when looking around the Internet, and ALWAYS tell your parents before you set off on an Internet journey!
